TechSmiths Consultant Needed.
TechSmiths, Inc. is looking to add to its talent pool. While we are
always looking for highly qualified people who fit our "Rent-a-Guru"
model, we are advertising at this time for a specific need.
We are a highly motivated and talented group of consultants,
specializing in high-end tool development, disaster recovery, and
database administration, but of course every day application development
pays the bills. The environment is varied and challenging. We are
successful because we employ the best people in the marketplace. We
expect and reward dedication, expertise and professionalism from
talented and experienced people. If we think you could become a
TechSmith we will start you as a contractor (1099) for us for 30-60
days. If you can meet our exacting standards we will offer you a
permanent position (W2). This approach has allowed us to grow with
stability during this recession, even with major clients who are
dependent on airline revenue post 9/11.
We expect everyone in our office to be proactive in maintaining and
developing their skills. All our people (including our office manager)
cross train each other, everyone goes to the progress conference. We
provide the standard benefits: health/life, vacation/sick days, 401(k)
with 100% matching, etc. We viciously guard against overwork and
over-travel. In return, we ask that you DELIVER. Deliver what is
promised, when it is promised.
We are looking for a new road warrior. This position will travel
extensively for the next year. The successful candidate MUST have at
least 5 years of MFG/Pro technical experience (eB VERY helpful) and 1
year [real] Progress DBA experience (V9). Only principles will be
considered, and only those with the current legal right to work in the
US or Canada. We are not sponsoring visas at this time. Headhunters,
agencies, and consulting firms will be ignored.
Additional desirable skills: java, SQL, Oracle DBA, good web graphic
design skills.
