If there is something unclear about the documentation or a particular usage that you are seeing in your local configuration then feel free to go ahead and describe what it is that you don't understand. Odd combination to ask about. They have nothing to do with each other. Also, -m1 is not a "database startup parameter". It is a server startup parameter.
I suggest you read the docs from the link above and then let us know if you have further questions.
