2. What is DWP framework that progress is talking?
2. The company NetSetup is specialised in building frameworks. DWP is made for performance and works with a repository database for the UI. Essentially there are 2 programs with dwp 1 UI.p (User interface) and 1 BL.p (Bussinuss Logic) they have a renderer for the UI. DWP is a way to easy make your (legacy) application n-tier. They've also build a renderer which generates a .net interface. So with dwp it's also possible to make an application with a .net interface without having to do the c# stuff. Pretty cool. For more detailed information contact netsetup: www.netsetup.nl. Or ask at dwp@peg.com
They sort of exploded, ever since the introduction of dynamic objects, or a more complete set of dynamic objects since v9 to be more precise.
Not just Dynamics or what was previously MIP's DynaMax and NetSetup's DWP. Just about every software house website I visit I come across a new framework.
I also know of a WebSpeed framework "Progress Professional Services, UK" ( from what I understand the main Progress distributor in the UK, not PSC ) has developed and are selling, though I can't remember the name.
Just recently I spoke to Brynjar Hasle who developed his "JukeBox" framework
