Help: ODBC connection failed

Hi guys,

recently I having a lot problems with ODBC connection (Merant 3.6), it drops connection randomly.

My setup is under window 2003, it is SQL 92-client access (9.1D)
Here is the error message.

ODBC call <SQLDriverConnect> for data source <leo> failed: <[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Timeout expired>. Notify Customer Support.

I tried to reinstall this progress driver, and it also failed on me.

1. Error: Unable to access error code 44537

2. Error in initializing globals

3. The system cannot find the path specified.

4. Registry error: the uninstall program is unable to find the user based registry information. it maybe missing because
- the progress uninstall program is older verion, or a differnt user has installed the version of progress you are trying to uninstall.......


Any sugguestion?
 
many different errors there.
All errors I'm not familiar with. But if you really need 9.1D then at least upgrade to sp9 and use the datadirect 4.1 driver who is available there. You can install the driver from the servicepack. It resides in the
DataDirect41 directory which you can find after unpacking the servicepack.
Better is to upgrade to 10.1C or 10.2a which has many many improved sql capabilities.

Regarding your specific error: I had many errors with 9.1D and SQL. Ugrading 2 sp9 solved a lot of them.
