How do I get started with Progress - its a niche skill that you can make a lot of money in?

I am told that there are people who do very well out of Progress - they are generally consultants.

For humble, meat and potato programmers like myself the endless riches and keys to the gates of paradise are less easily attained - so don't be too optimistic; nothing in life is that easy.

You can download OpenEdge from the Progress Website, but getting a placement with a company that uses it is a whole other kettle of ballgames.
