This has been on the list for years, but I will give you a specific use case so you can understand that not having this incurs additional downtime. Dump and load processing looks like this: Shutdown Backup - 30 minutes Dbanalys - 30 minutes Dump - 1.5 hours Load - 1 hour Index Rebuild - 1.5 hours Dbanalys - 30 minites Backup - 30 minutes verify row counts - 1 minute Startup As you can see the entire process for a small to midsized database is 5 hours. If Dbanalys was part of backup, 1 hour would be saved which is 20% less downtime. I hope this tells you how important this feature is.
