I am happy to say I am finally at a company that takes holiday time seriously and avoids massive implementations during Christmas and New Years

That is indeed a bonus! I was meant to be dumping and loading a 400GB database over Christmas but decided to hand in my notice last week so they don't want me doing it any more.

Yep indeed - OpenEdge.
Legacy system in 10.2B08 (with ADM and ADM2 stuff. Eeek!) to maintain, and R&D on an 11.6 replacement product they're building from the ground up.
