you should set this up so your apps and users send print jobs to a queue and not to specific printers. then the printer(s) draw jobs from their queues and print them. then if you have to assign a different printer nobody has to change where they send the jobs. also, you can also have several printers draw from one queue if you want or need to. is that how you are doing it?
