And based on your posting history, I know you have lots of data to back up your position. I hope that you write it up and get it to the relevant people. I am sure that they will listen ... I just don't know how easy any of it is to do. There plate for DB has been pretty full lately with encryption, multitenancy, and horizontal partitioning (which seems to need some finishing), so maybe things will pick up for high availability issues after this. They do need to listen to all of us! I have my list too!
