Seeking to recruit an experienced Progress OpenEdge Database Administrator to join a global team which installs, maintains and administers mission-critical, leading-edge databases. This on-site opportunity can be based in Columbus OH (management team is here) NJ (Iselin or Jersey City) or FL (Jacksonville or Tampa) Qualifications & Responsibilities: - Must be a recent Progress OpenEdge DBA with 5+ years of dedicated, full time Progress DBA experience. A developer with “some” DBA experience will not likely qualify for this position. - Your Progress OE DBA knowledge will be tested!!! - Comfortable with basic Unix (aix, linux) system administration; understand OS issues well enough to communicate with system administrators and the application development (AD) and support teams (this is not an SA role; but you must be conversant in unix SA) - Familiar with OpenEdge (OE) application development including 4GL, WebSpeed and AppServer to communicate effectively with AD and support teams regarding issues (this is not a programmer/developer role but we work closely with the AD teams) - Competent with OE installation and configuration - Competent with Unix shell scripting; create new or changing scripts to support all DBA activities - Competent with all aspects of OE v10 database administration implement / configure maintain monitor tune backup dump/load recover/restore troubleshoot - Competent with multi volume databases; after imaging, type II storage areas - Competent with OE Replication - Familiar with OE Management we run all OEM “managed” databases admin server name server - Familiar with OE v11 (we are upgrading) - Familiar with OE database security features and administration - Familiar with OE auditing - Familiar with Sonic MQ DBA Team is responsible for: - Ensuring housekeeping and monitoring of all database systems from dev to test to production mission critical systems - Participating in enterprise managed change events for various database related activities - Supporting new business initiatives and projects - Provide 24x7 production support. We are currently in pilot / development mode; going production live in late 2014; India team covers 2AM to 11 AM; US team covers 8AM to 5 PM - A large production environment in an enterprise network, spanning multiple geographical regions in a SAN environment - Managing, training, recruiting and motivating a high performance team to deliver complex technical services - Handling 3rd party audits - Addressing Bank security and risk control issues - Creating and improvising monitoring and maintenance reports Please contact me throug this greoup or directly via mark.l.bonneville@jpmchase.com Sincerely, Mark Bonneville
