So you should test for inclusion of drive letters in the Propath when on Windows and refuse to start your utility when they are missing... That does not require any API access. Just a mix of ENTRY and SUBSTRING. One option is to simply require that any user of ABL2DB include drive letters in the supplied propath, but I would rather have something else because the side-effects when they are missing are complicated.
