I'm posting this in the hope that someone has seen this error before... and solved it. I've been working on solving this one for 2 days now.
Errors are posted to the Event Message Log when an ASP page attempts to initialize a Trilogy configuration model from the SQL 7.0 syteline config DB. Server is running Trilogy 3.1.79 with the performance patch, and a newer eConfig performance patch (includes: eConfigService.exe, eConfigServer.dll, IOEConfigSRV.dll).
I think what the Errors are saying is the object is not returning a GID for the configuration which is probably more a symptom of a lager issue. When viewing the ConfigMasterStatus.exe, this application shows that a configuration was never started. Use of the Default user interface shows that Trilogy is functioning correctly. The XML Layouts have been created and the file names have been correlated properly in the DB... and the Registry has been updated to locate the path to the XML Files. All of the DSN information seems to be set correctly in both Customer Center and the machine's Data Sources. All of the objects in the ASP are being created and the eConfigService says it is running, although I believe it is producing similar errors upon the service's start. Once the ASP attempts to initialize a configuration then the machine needs to be rebooted in order to free up the service as it can not be restarted via the Services Manager.
Hope someone can help. :firemad: If nothing else, thanks for looking and sharing in my pain!
