Error while installing OE replication

Hi DBA's,

OE 10.1C

I get the following error when I try to install OE replication:

Shutdown these processes before reinstalling.

C:\Progress\OpenEdge\bin\admsrvc.exe
C:\Progress\OpenEdge\jre\bin\java.exe
C:\Progress\OpenEdge\bin\environ.dll
C:\Progress\OpenEdge\bin\evntlog.dll
C:\Progress\OpenEdge\bin\jni_dsm.dlle
C:\Progress\OpenEdge\bin\jni_util.dll
C:\Progress\OpenEdge\bin\jutil.dll

I shutdown all progress evenst/db's and tried even rebooting the server but without any success. Tried even to kill processes in task manager but not all processes appear there.

Has anyone gone through this before ? Or uninstall and reinstall the only way out ?

Check that you are not running any services for Progress.


If you need to kill a process do not use task manager but
Process Explorer from SysInternals. It can stop all programs and show you which files that are locked by each process

You need to stop the adminserver: proadsv -stop <-port xxxx> or stop the service in windows services.
