At the moment, if you want to create a Document Template you go into the object setup, go to "Templates" and click on "New Document Template". You fill in the details and you then upload a template file. Now, in order to be able to see the text area editor after saving the template, the template file has to be non-empty - even if you don't know what you want to put in there yet. If the file has no content, once you have created the field, you do not see the associated textarea for editing. It would be ideal to be able to to - in some circumstances, where the template is rather simple for example a cvs or other text output - just create the Document Template record and be able to edit in the associated textarea - without actually creating a file outside the application. For example, one may want to be able to create a whole bunch at once as needed and then go back later on and build/edit without having to upload a non-empty file - or any file at all for that matter.
