I have a requirement to print in EMF (Enhanced metafile). I believe the Progress default is RAW. But is it possible to change this?
Referring to Progress Software Technical Support Note # 15276:
"Under Windows95, you must
change EMF spooling to RAW spooling."
I presume from this that EMF printing was not possible in earlier versions of Progress, but does Openedge now support this?
The reason for this requirement is that we are using Citrix PS4 and the universal print driver for Citrix acts as a proxy for the client printer. This proxy requires EMF and cannot be changed.
Is there something we can do in the Progress session to print in this format?
If not, the only workaround is to install the drivers for every printer on our network onto each Citrix server. This not very practical as it would produce a massive overhead
The symptoms we are experiencing are:
- Progress failing to print but not producing errors.
- Any applications called from Progress fail to print (Excel, Actuate, Reporting Services through IE)
- These applications started independently in the same session (open side-by-side) will print fine
Environment:
OE10.1A
Citrix Presentation Server 4
Windows Server 2003 SP2
Thanks in advance for any input!!
