Eclipse Installation for 10.1B

Hi All.

As far back as August 2006 when I got OE 10.1A I have wanted to install OpenEdge Architect into Eclipse. During the installation of 10.1A (Windows) I found no mention of Eclipse.

I raised a support call to progress and they said you can download the Eclipse SDK from the "Progress Download Web page" and quickly closed the Issue. I can't find Eclipse for Progress anywhere. :(
I asked the question again and then the second answer is "It's in the 3Party directory of the OE 10.1A Windows Media CD. I still can't find it.

Since then I have upgraded to 10.1B, and guess what I still have not got Eclipse installed as part of the Windows OE installation.

OK I will look at the Progress KB. It says to copy the contents of '%DLC%/oeide/eclipse/plugins' and Install Eclipse. I DON'T have a oeide directory. So as far as I can see I am doing something completely wrong or it could be a License thing.

BTW i only have a "Webspeed Workshop" License for Windows, could this be my problem.

Many Thanks

James.

Hi James,

Unfortunately, Workshop does not include the Eclipse based IDE, the same goes for OpenEdge Studio.

I think, Workshop even has a limited version fo the AppBuilder.

You are going to need OpenEdge Architect for Eclipse.

If you try the 60 days evaluation kit from PSDN it will install OpenEdge Architect and show up in the Start Menu.
