Different versions of Progress

Hi everyone,

I wonder how many different versions are there?

Is there one "Full" , one "Run Time" and one "Query"?
I wonder because we have one application that wont run now when we have upgraded to Progress 10.1A Run Time in AIX.

First it ran in Progress 8.3B Query (at least that's what I always believed) on a DG, then we moved it to a box with AIX 5.3 and Progress (Full) 9.1D.
Everything worked just fine, both on the DG and the AIX box.

Now we have moved it to another AIX box where there is only a Run Time version of Progress 10.
OS is AIX 5.3
And now it wont work.

So, what really wonder is, is there a version called "query" for Progress 10, or what do I need to do to get the application to work?

Regards

Anders

Hi andben01,

First of all there is a difference between version (V8, V9, R10) and license (development, runtime, query etc....).

What is the real problem?
Does your database start?
If you try to start your application does it give any error?

If you have source which is compiled runtime then runtime license isn't enough. If you have used Progress Report builder to make reports, then your reports probably wont run because you only have a runtime license.

Maybe you could tell us some more on the problems you experiencing.

Casper.

BTW, why not upgrade to 10.1B (or wait a few weeks for 10.1C..) because 10.1A is already retired....

In fact, as of today, 10.1C is released.

Run-time sounds like just a client networking license, i.e., no database. How about giving us the information from the config file?
