Database upgrade

Currently we are using PROGRESS 9.1E Appserver technologies with backend ORACLE 8i. According to Organization policy management need to upgrade ORCALCE 8i to ORACLE 10g. So I need to make sure compatibly with PROGRESS 9.1E. Currently we are using Progress 9.1e Progress oracle dataserver.
Please can you some one list down, step which required for the upgrade?

Before you upgrade you should have a look into the product availability guide to make sure the version of Oracle you intend to use is supported. You can find the product availability guides here:
