The Database Administer (DBA) will be responsible for managing and
maintaining both production and development enterprise level databases.
As a DBA, the resource will be responsible for managing standards with
respect to the logical and physical implementations of each database
including the design of physical data storage, maintenance, access, and
security administration. The DBA will follow best practices with respect
to configuring the database environment to ensure the best performance
possible, while maintaining the highest level of data integrity and
recoverability. The DBA is a specialist in their area of expertise, and is
expected to produce highly accurate and well-documented work.
Database Physical/Logical Design & Architecture.
* Lead the database design and development of all transactional and
informational environments.
* Perform all physical database design functions including
development, definition, maintenance, review, support, and marketing.
* Manage the Schema Structures and Definition in the development
environments directly from the Physical Data Models.
Database Administration
* Installation & Configuration of Development and Production DBMS
Environments
* Manage & Support all Production and Development Database Environments
* Performance & Tuning
* Disk Utilization Management
* Backup & Recovery of Development Environments where required
* Maintaining & Managing Software Licenses with respect to the
Production and Development Environments
* Capacity Planning
Security Administration
* Users Access Definition
* User Access Management Monitoring &
* Maintaining Security of the Development Environments in accordance
with Ocwen's Policies and Procedures
Provide 2nd or 3rd Shift Production Support, dependent upon position being hired
Minimum of 5 years experience as a Database Administrator
Minimum of 3 years experience working in a Database Development Role
Minimum of 2 years experience working in a Production Support & Maintenance Role
Experience within the Real Estate Servicing and/or Finance Industries
Selfless attitude, Analytical thought process
BS in Computer Science preferred though not required; dependent upon practical experience
Team Player willing to provide and receive cross training on other DBMS's
Strong Communication Skills both Verbal and Written
DBMS &Version: Primary: Progress 9.1B and greater, Secondary: Oracle 7.x, 8.x
Database Tools: Erwin, DBArtisan, RapidSQL, ERStudio, and DBMS Specific
Related DBMS Technology: Progress 4GL, SQL, PL/SQL DDL, DML, OLAP, and OLTP
Hardware: Sun, IBM, and Compaq
Transformation Products: Informatica PowerMarts, Infopump, Symbiator, SQL Loader
OS Technology: Windows NT 4+, Sun Solaris 7+
Data Storage Technology: EMC, RAID, Veritas
