Dear all,
I have a problem concerning the Progress Application Server. Maybe someone can help me out with this problem. We are trying to use two Application Servers on one server. Both applications servers are started (processes under UNIX are running in background, checked with 'ps -ef') and only one of them can be connected from the clients. When trying to connect the second application server from the clients, we get the message: Connection refused by Application Server. I tried the same construction on a different server and it was no problem at all. On the second server both application servers can be connected without any problem!
Only difference is the place of the ai and bi files. On the working server, there is no ai and bi is in the same directory as the db file. On the server with the problem ai and bi are in different directories.
Do I need to mention ai and bi files when starting the application server? Although I tried to use -g and -a and also not using them. Any of the options did not work. Services names and ports on client and server are the same (double checked). And the connect statements to connect to both application servers are the same as well, except for the -S parameter offcourse. One can be connected, the other not.
Other info:
Progress Version: 8.3E
Server: Sun-Solaris Unix
Clients: Windows 2000/XP
Thanks for any help at all!!!!
Kind Regards,
Raymond
