Dbanalys is impossible without the scan of the free cluster chains. Dbanalys should keep in memory the list of these clusters during "Area Block Analysis" phase. On other hand backup does not scan the free cluster chains. It treats the blocks in these clusters as the real data rather than as the free blocks. Hence it can't do dbanalys. As a matter of fact dbanalys is running in read-only mode but we can't use the -RO option with dbanalys. IMHO, it could help to save the time during D&L processing.
