Changing a Field's Extent

I want to change the extent of a field in my database, but it looks like it's locked in the Data Dictionary. (See attachment.) Is it possible to change the extent of a field?

Don't get me wrong - but this might be your chance to re-design your schema using a relation table instead of an array field.
