Hello, can someone please explain how does a phantom structure and document structure work?
Situation: BOM has 2 packaging: returnable & expendable. Returnable packaging is from the customer, it does have a structure because it uses a cardboard grid/divider. Expendable packaging is a complete cardboard container including the grid/divider.
When the customer returns its packaging on time, Finish Good is shipped in returnable containers.
when the customer doesn't return its packaging on time, Finish Good is shipped in expendable containers.
It is important to consider that expendable packaging can ve an inventory item (it should be consumen when doing backflush) but I have FG where the Expendable packaging is a floor stock item (do not generate inventory) so when doing backflush, it does not consume it.
Question: considering the situation, Can I have both packaging in the BOM? which type of structure should have each on it?

Thanks in advance
