related services for the library market, is seeking an Application
Programmer/Analyst at its Crystal Lake, Illinois headquarters.
Under the supervision of the Director of Information Systems, the
incumbent will design, implement, and maintain complex business
applications in a Windows/Progress/Java environment.
Specific job responsibilities will include:
* Developing detailed technical designs for assigned projects;
* Coding and testing applications in batch, online, and web environments;
* Consulting with internal users on application requirements, enhancement
requests, and general usability issues;
* Following sound software engineering practices to ensure that all
applications are robust, documented, and maintainable.
Your skills and experience will include:
* A four-year degree in Computer Science or Information Systems plus 2 or
more years developing significant business applications, or an equivalent
combination of education and experience;
* Demonstrated proficiency implementing transaction-oriented programs
using RDBMS technologies and modern programming languages such as
C/C++ or Java;
* Preferred experience with Progress DBMS and 4GL (V9), client/server
architectures, web services development, graphical user interfaces, and
middleware (app server) technologies.
