I would like to use Shadow Copy with Progress 91D and am looking for some help Etc.
I have been told I would have to initiate "Quiet Points"run shadow copy the shut quiet points off.
I was told that if I have enough BI Buffers and if Shadow copy did not take a long time my users would not even notice.
Is anyone else doing this?
I am moving our ERP which has a progress back end to a new server with a SAN hooked to it where I hope to take snapshots of Progress through out the day as well as a full backup at night and store it on the SAN.
My goal is to minimize data loss to just a few hours if we experience corruption instead of a full day which would be ugly considering the number of users I have and the amount of activity on the system.
I have heard using 2003 server shadow copy technology is a solution but Progress says it cannot be done without "quiet points"
Can anyone please offer me a solution or Idea??
Thanks in advane!
