Database Administrator / System Administrator

Education:
This position requires a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience. Masters
degree is desirable.

Requirements:
This position requires 2+ years experience supporting QAD MFG/PRO, 3+ years
experience in Database Administration using Progress DBMS, and 7+ years
experience in Information Systems as programmer, analyst, or system manager.
This position requires experience in progress 4gl programming, MFG/PRO ERP
end-user support, database administration using Progress, Unix and NT system
administration, source code management, data center change control
procedures, batch job scripting and software development cycles.

The following experience is desired:
DataBase Administration using SQL Server and Oracle, writing policies and
procedures, evaluating hardware and software products, EDI and B2B System
Management, COGNOS Impromptu and PowerPlay, and functional knowledge of
MFG/PRO.

Responsibilities:
In this position you will be responsible for administration of the databases
that support SanDisk's global business systems. This involves supporting
many production, test, and development databases using Progress, Oracle, and
SQL Server database management systems in a multi-site, 24x365 environment.
the database server farm is located in Sunnyvale and accessed from sites
around the world. The Database Administration works closely with the Server
Administrator. They back each other up to provide 24x365 production support
for SanDisk's business systems. Both positions work closely with the
Business Application Support group to provide end-user support, with the
Business Analysts and Application Development teams to schedule jobs and
move new programs into production. Responsibilities include: system
configuration, backup and recovery , production source code management,
ad-hoc queries, performance tuning/capacity management, job scripting &
scheduling, archiving, and end-user QAD support.
