    Anyone out there help me?

I have been out of the Progress market for a little while now... I have an interview this week at which I will have to undertake a technical test... Can anyone out there let me have some simple v9 (chui) listings that I could look through to refresh my memory please?

    Hi to everyone

Just thought I'd drop in and say hi to all the people I met on here, those I helped and those who helped me. I have to admit I miss using Progress but life has to move on. I still drop in and check the Forum out every now and again. Chris - Keep up the good work! :)

    Progress Developer, Southwest UK

Nigel, I know exactly how you feel. I used to be based in Yeovil (I am now in Dorset)and the only interview I managed to get was in Bath. Since I left my last Progress post in Feb 2004 I have had a variety of positions none of which have been IT related which seems an incredible waste of 26...

    Progress Developer, Southwest UK

Almost one year on - and yes, I'm still looking. Surely there must be someone in the South West of the UK who is using Progress and who is willing to make use of the many years experience I have?

    Progress Developer, Southwest UK

Yes - I hate to admit it but I am STILL looking. I think the biggest problem I have is that Progress seems to be under utilised in this area and I am tied to the area for personal reasons. I have seen plenty of jobs advertised in the Yorkshire area where I used to live and one or two at an...

How do you remove the ----- under the column-label command?

The easiest way round this is to use NO-LABEL and put some text fields on the screen which you populate with your own headings

    Arrays

Progress, unfortunately, does not support multi-dimensional arrays. One work round to create the effect of a two diminsional array is to use a temp-table: DEFINE TEMP-TABLE mytable NO-UNDO FIELD rec-num AS INTEGER /* functions as the array subscript */ FIELD myarray AS CHARACTER EXTENT...

Copying certain data from db to db

Use the CONNECT statement. See the Progress language reference for syntax (it's a while since I've used it so can't recall the syntax off the top) and a possible "gotcha" - the connect to the database can't be in the same program that uses the database, so you'd have to connect using prog1.p and...

Copying certain data from db to db

If this is a regular job then the solution James suggested is the best one. If this is a one-off then (provided the structures are the same) dump the data from the dictionary options and import it into the second database.

    Import with variable delimiter

Not as such. You could however write your code to generate the code for the import and run the generated code (something like this): define variable delimchar$v as char no-undo format "X(1)". output to tmpprog.p put "INPUT FROM c:\prices.csv." skip "REPEAT:" skip "IMPORT...
