Still stuck on 11.7 on RHEL 8. Yes. I know. Sorry Tom. Migration to PASOE Webspeed is an absolute pain.
One of the side issues with 11.7 seems to be the flakiness of HTTP requests using the shipped classes. It works fine 95% of the time but then it gets a broken pipe. I've spoken in the past...

We have a table in the database that is the system control table. Pretty much every program has an include file in it to read this record. Sometimes this even happens multiple times due to nested includes. It's a mess.
We are reading this...
Having a bit of a brain fart. Can't work it out. Trying to get a script to move a bunch of tables to a new storage area. Annoyingly the KB only has the scripts for Windows which is less than useful!!
If I run the command from the command line, the table moves successfully, but if I run it from...
I need somewhere to rant so please excuse me for a few moments.
OE 11.7.12/13.
Once a month we copy the backup from live to UAT and restore it, and anonymise the data in it for GDPR reasons. This process takes a long time, but it's manageable. This is standard operation. UAT is a different...
Been getting a few of these lately:
SYSTEM ERROR: Index <index> in <table> for recid <recid> partition <n> could not be deleted. (17630)
I'd rather not be running idxcheck in live unless I have to. So can I run it against a recent restore of the database as a starting point?

You may have heard that there is a critical security vulnerability in the “log4j” Java library that is used by many applications in the Java ecosystem and you might be wondering if this impacts your...

Got a backup ant script that takes a backup with probkup and then does a partial verify on it. More accurately it does this on n databases, with up to p of them in parallel.
Most of the time it works fine, but recently I've been seeing that the partial verify is returning...
We've been getting quite a lot of posts on the Chit Chat forum this week where new users are posting carbon copies of ancient threads in an attempt to get around the spam filters. If you see some weird questions coming up, please google the text and if you find a match for an old post then flag...
Version 11.6 Progress. I created a database locally. It's a merge of 2 databases and I enabled Large Files so I could just let variable extents grow during the binary load in order to use those to size the extents for the eventual database.
I took a backup of this Large Files enabled database...
