I need to update a variable created in microsoft word.

I have some archives in COBOL (LINUX), is there anyway to connect to these files from progress (using ODBC for example). What I need to do is to read these files and then create their components in PROGRESS files. Thanks

I created a Variable in a DOT document (Microsoft WORD) and I want to give it a value while running a prgramm from progress.
