Question CODEPAGE-CONVERT for German, Greek and Latvian

We upload item master data via progress 4gl code into QAD. We upload item description in multiple languages like French, German, Greek, Latvian but these languages were not loading properly (it was loading special characters). We used CODEPAGE-CONVERT with target code-page as UTF-8, it solved the issue for French language (loading fine now).

However, German, Greek and Latvian are still not working. How can we load these languages without issues? Please advise.

The calue of SESSION:CPSTREAM is ISO8859-1. Should we just use CODEPAGE-CONVERT ( source-string [ , 1253 or IBM851
[ ,source-codepage ] ] ) for Greek for example?

Use the "try and check" method.
For Greek:
CODEPAGE-CONVERT(string, "UTF-8", "1253").
If the conversion corrupts data then use "IBM851" instead of "1253".

Thanks for your suggestion, please find below the before and after code page conversion.

German is working fine; however Latvian and Greek are not okay. Could you please advise if we can try any other code pages for them?

SUPPROMSGS/gre contains only 2 df's:

Both these codepages you are already used.
Internet gives other codepages for Greek language:
737 Code page 737 - Wikipedia
869 Code page 869 - Wikipedia

But Progress does not seem to support them.

Which tool you used to read the Greek descriptions from file? Does its open file dialog allows to choose encoding? Does it choose the encoding automatically?
