WebSpeed Settings - cgiip.exe error message

Hi,

I am trying to setup WebSpeed in a Windows XP and IIS5 - I have setup WebSpeed 3.1A in this platform before BUT I have issues with OE102B now.

I have:
- copied the cgiip.exe and cgiip.wsc from C:\PROGRESS\OpenEdge\bin to C:\Inetpub\Scripts ;
- Given permissions to Read & Write and Execute Permissions also: Scripts and Executables at IIS;
- Given Full Control to Directory c:\Inetpub\wwwroot and c:\Inetpub\Scripts
- Application Protection at IIS: Low (IIS Process)

When I run the URL: http://localhost/scripts/cgiip.exe/Wservice=wsbroker1/workshop into the IE7.

It is showing up the error message:

WebSpeed error from messenger process (6019) Msngr: the specified service name does not exist or has a bad format. (5825):

Any help would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,

the URL is key-sensitive, because of java try:
Code:
[URL="http://localhost/scripts/cgiip.exe/WService=wsbroker1/workshop"][U]http://localhost/scripts/cgiip.exe/WService=wsbroker1/workshop[/U][/URL]
and of course check if:
proadsv -start/query
wtbman -i wsbroker1 -start/query

HI rstanciu,

I have checked if the folder name are as the same in the URL and they are.
Checked : Proadsv : AdminServer is Alive and wtbman -i wsbroker1 shows the 5 agents available and connected into the database.

Do you have any other guess? I have checked the log for the Broker and the Server also and there is any error message.

Hi,

I have tried now as WService (http://localhost/scripts/cgiip.exe/WService=wsbroker1/workshop) but still not working:

Now it is giving a second error message:

WebSpeed error from messenger process (6019)

Connection failure for host localhost port 5162 transport UDP. (9407)
Content-Type: text/html WebSpeed error from messenger process (6019)

Msngr: the specified service name does not exist or has a bad format. (5825): wsbroker1

Any ideas?

Thanks,

seems your nameServer is down NS1 (UDP: 5162) check if the broker is configurated to use NS1.

stop all on console (proenv):

proadsv -stop
killall java process ...

and start all services again:

proadsv -start
proadsv -q
nsman -i NS1 -start
nsman -i NS1 -q
wtbman -i wsbroker1 -start
wtbman -i wsbroker1 -q

Code:
http://localhost/scripts/cgiip.exe/WService=wsbroker1/ping

Hi,

I have stopped wtbman, nsman and proadsv and rebooted the server. and I see wsbroker registered in NS1:

OpenEdge Release 10.2B02 as of Wed Sep 1 19:15:01 EDT 2010

Connecting to Progress AdminServer using rmi://localhost:20931/Chimera (8280)
Searching for NS1 (8288)
Connecting to NS1 (8276)

NameServer NS1 running on Host develv5 Port 5172 Timeout 30 seconds.
Application Service UUID Name Host Port Weight Timeout

WS.wsbroker1
932.99.000.ZZZ:1ee77e:cf3bbe04fd:-8000 WS.wsbroker1 develv5/10.1.10.56 3055 0 30

I have tried to start up the NS1 in a different port number 5172 but the error still the same:

WebSpeed error from messenger process (6019) Connection failure for host localhost port 5162 transport UDP. (9407)
Content-Type: text/html
WebSpeed error from messenger process (6019) Msngr: the specified service name does not exist or has a bad format. (5825): wsbroker1

It is intriguing because even with the URL:http://localhost/scripts/cgiip.exe still showing up the same error message.

It says: Connection failure for host localhost port 5162 transport UDP. (9407). The location should be remote. Now its looking at the webserver for a nameserver called NS1 on localhost not on develv5 (10.1.10.56 ).

Check the ubroker.properties settings in your messenger install dir there its should say in the NameServer.NS1 section: location=remote and host=develv5

HTH,
Casper.

Hi Casper,

The Section NS1 into ubroker.properties is it like that below: Can I add those lines into that section? location=remote and host=develv5

[NameServer.NS1]
autoStart=1
environment=NS1
loggingLevel=4
srvrLogFile=$WRKDIR/NS1.ns.log

Thanks,

Hi,

I am still seein that error message:

WebSpeed error from messenger process (6019)
Connection failure for host localhost port 5162 transport UDP. (9407)
Content-Type: text/html

WebSpeed error from messenger process (6019)
Msngr: the specified service name does not exist or has a bad format. (5825): wsbroker1

Someone can give any advice on this please? I have posted here the result od wsconfig:

you say, your Progress installation is OE102B but wsRoot: /webspeed102A
may be you are copied the cgiip.exe from another Progress version or you use a old version of ubroker.properties

copy cgiip.exe and cgiip.wsc too ... is a text file containing some configuration variables.

to check the name server: nsman -i NS 1 -q

Hi,

Yes, either sides Linux and Windows side are: OE102B. that one posted before it is from Linux side but when I run the same command into Windows Side it shows me as /webspeed102B.

Yes, I have copied cgiip.exe and cgiip.wsc (where it has just one line uncommented: -i wsbroker1 - all the rest has # in front of it)

Yes, the Name Server is UP Running and it has wsbroker registered in it.

Have you checked the configuration of the messenger? Especially the controlling name server and host - this determines which NameServer on which host the messenger attempts to pass the request to:

Code:
[WebSpeed.Messengers]
    AllowMsngrCmds=0
    certStorePath=@{Startup\DLC}\certs\
    controllingNameServer=NS1
    Host=localhost
    ipver=IPv4
    logAppend=1
    logEntries=1
    logEntryTypes=
    logFile=@{WorkPath}\msgr.log
    loggingLevel=1
    logThreshold=0
    maxNSClientPort=0
    minNSClientPort=0
    msngrExecFile=
    msngrScriptFile=
    noHostVerify=0
    noSessionReuse=0
    nsClientPortRetry=4
    nsClientPortRetryInterval=250
    numLogFiles=3
    Port=3055
    registerNameServer=1
    sslEnable=0
    useConnID=0
    workDir=@{WorkPath}
    wsmAdmIPList=

[WebSpeed.Messengers.CGIIP]
    controllingNameServer=NS102B
    msngrExecFile=@{Startup\DLC}\bin\cgiip.exe
    msngrScriptFile=

You should do this at the machine where the messenger resides. This is not that machine.

HI Casper,

First of all, Thank you so much....

Sorry, now I get it the idea and the WebSpeed WebTools is up Running beautiful.

The only thing left: Some images of it are not showing up.

I have checked the properties of Images folder at IIS from WebSpeed102B and I have given right to Script and Executables, Write - but nothing has changed - still not showing up.
