VB With Progress

I am a VB programmer who typically uses it to tap into several different kinds of databases for data. What do I need to do to tap into this database? What driver do I need? Is there a reference webpage for using VB with progress? Is the drivers free, if not how much? I hate when my boss throws me into projects that I have to learn about. Any help will be a bonus...I have no idea where to start.

Just an idea, but couldn't you use the progress ODBC-driver to pop in (in V8 Merant ODBC-driver)
