We have been using RT now for just a few weeks, and wanted to know what
others though of the following "inconveniences" that RT seems to have. If
others agree, I will send them as proposed changes to Starbase:
1) After you have created a task, selected that task, you are able to
"view" the objects attached to that task. They are displayed in a window
"Object Versions Created Under Task Number: XX". Proposed Change: You
should be able to "select" and "edit" your object directly from this
listing. If you are the "owner" of the task, allow the edits to make
changes, otherwise, edit in "read-only" mode.
2) In the "Object Selection for module: xx" that lists the Group,
Level, Type, Name/Description. A little "*" on the left side of the
Name/Description to indicate that it is "checked out" would be unbelievably
helpful.
3) Still on the "Object Select for module: xx". When you highlight an
object, should also display the task #, the manager, and developer in the
"Object Details" screen. Currently, many keystrokes need to get this
information - First, SELECT the Object. Here, you note the task number.
Now you have to QUIT, TASKS, scroll to find the TASK, now Toggle. Finally,
you get to see the Manager, Programmer, and User Ref. This is a cumbersome
method of getting this commonly needed information.
Thoughts on these from anyone?
