Reading A Sql Server Table From An 4gl Program

Hi to all.

I use Openedge 10.2B on a Unix Aix system
I work on two ERP .
One is written in Opendedge 10.2b and it is running on AIX system ...
The second ERP is written in .Net Language and is running on a Windows Server ..SQL Server DB ..

Someone ask me to create a 4GL program on AIX system that read data from that SQL SERVER.

I read about DATASERVER product...
We have no this product.

Is this the only possibility ?????
Is it a good solution ????
I read parries discordant about DATA SERVER product.
