My Client has an immediate requirement for a Progress DBA to manage and maintain a number of Progress V9 production databases on a HP-UX platform. All Progress applications are developed in-house so the management of development and test Progress databases is also a requirement. The essential duties of this job are: maintaining production and test database environments, security and integrity of production databases, support and performance monitoring of the production environment, participation and support of Progress-related IT projects, working with development on database design, application of database schema changes, and maintenance of database standards & procedures. A good knowledge of Progress 4GL programming, the Dataserver for Oracle, WebSpeed Transaction Broker, and Unix shell scripting would also be a distinct advantage. Knowledge of Oracle DBA skills would be an advantage.
Location = Ireland
Rates = Negotiable depending on experience.
