PROGRESS DBA, Systems Administator for Omaha, Nebraska Client Company
Full time permanent position.
Candidate will be a member of the Progress Database team, supporting
development, testing, training, and production environments. Job
responsibilities include: database administration, performance tuning,
version control, and coordinating and implementing applications for the
customers of client.
Senior Progress DBA, with at least 4 years of experience as a Progress
database administrator (Unix versions) to include version 9.1:
* creating, maintaining, and performance tuning databases
* after-imaging
* schema maintenance and updates
* Progress patch/service pack administration/installation
* 4GL experience in character mode.
Must have expert knowledge Admin Server and Name server. Must have working
knowledge of AIX, O/S administration and utilities, to include:
* STRONG scripting skills, in particular korn shell (ksh)
* file/directory permissions
* TCP/IP usage and configuration
Must be able to work independently, with sound problem solving /
trouble-shooting skills.
BS/BA with technical major preferred.
Salary commensurate with experience.
