Progress 8.3b and JDBC

Hi Forum,

Is there any JDBC driver available for Progress 8.3b?
I know there is one shipped with 9.1 but customer has no plans for upgrade.
I also know that i can use ODBC/JDBC bridge, but assuming "reliability" of available ODBC drivers that's the last think I would like to use
