Description:

Specific: Manager of Applications Development for a corporate office. This position is responsible for planning and directing application design, development, and systems analysis for all computer programming focused on the company's financial reporting tool system.

Measurable: 5+ years experience in designing and developing complex computer applications ion a Progress 8.1 Provision plus environment. 3+ years supervisory experience assessing and reviewing work of high-level technical personnel involved in applications programming.

Action: Plan, assign, and direct the activities of professional and technical personnel involved in the design of the company's financial reporting tool. Review and analyze existing applications programs or install and implement new software. Review requests for program changes required to meet the needs of user departments by conducting meetings with senior level employees to determine data processing requirements based on new project priorities, changes in legislation and system needs.

Results: Ensure program efficiency, program documentation, the following of programming standards to ensure the output meets the needs of the user departments. Prepare regular reports for the Dir. Of Information Technology showing functioning of the system, status of program development and division needs.

Time- Bound Deliverables:
30 days: Become comfortable with staff and main players who are the directors of departments that need these modules to be developed. Take a leadership role and active participation in the weekly development meetings. This individual will be working closely with the former controller who is now the SMART project manager. Together they will take user ideas and specs and turn them into documentation for application development.

60 days: Make inroads into handling the development on their own and develop the 9.1 educational background by learning from the technical staff who have been working with the 9.1 Smart objects. The position is 50% development and hands- on and 50% administrative. Our client wants someone who is pro-active and will brainstorm solutions with the CTO

90 days: Modules that have been developed will be taken live and adjusted if areas need to be debugged. Once the modules are live there will be a need to train or develop staff to train the end-users who are financial related supervisors or clerks. There are 2 Phoenix locations and several other locations spanning from Los Angeles to Orlando.

Environment: The CTO enjoys educating staff in technical areas they have interest in as long as it stays within the group objectives. There is a 15 % bonus based on Company Performance this year. They offer a business casual environment, competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

Sub Objectives: Efforts will also be directed towards existing AS/400 (RPG) and NetWare (Clipper) applications until the financial reporting system is developed and implemented.
