how to start Database server in progress9.1d

hi,
i am trying to conncet to my db in multi user mode is giving error1423 .it's asking for starting the database in multi user mode .
what r all the things reqired to start progressDB server .
at present i am using progress9.1d in windows 2000

You can do one of two things.

1. Connect to the database in single-user mode using the -1 (minus one) startup parameter
2. Start your server in multi-user mode

To perform 2, this can be done in many ways but the easiest is to use the Progress Explorer tool. This is outlined in the Progress documentation (that is available on-line -- don't have the direct link but go to www.progress.com and you will find it).

Progress for Windows I am using ProControl... this way I can start by Windows Service.
