generate file .txt UTF-8 from data

hi i need your help again, we try to implement electronic invoice in my company, the company of this service need a file .txt for each invoice we make, but they need in UTF-8.

i know how make a .txt with various fields of database, but the type UTF-8 i dont know how.??

i hope some give a note o answer of that.

The version of Progress/OpenEdge you use is essential since support for unicode was not available from the beginning ...

For example, the OUTPUT TO statement has a CONVERT option so that you can write the data in UTF-8 to the file.

AFAIK the unicode support was added somewhere around that time or maybe 9.1d. So you could be lucky, although I would strongly recommend you to upgrade as we are talking about more than 10 years old software which is not supported by Progress since years ...
