Informatica (OEM) - Tier 2 Mission Critical: Yes Severity: 2-Restricted Operations Case number: 00290778 Product: CONNECT JDBC BRAND KIT Version: 4.2: 4.2.0.030243 (F044239.U015810) Driver: Oracle Files Attached: None Question: Does the JDBC Oracle driver still NOT support Domain Naming Service (DNS) for Oracle SCAN? I know the driver does support Grid Naming Service (GNS). If it is not supported, are there any plans to add this functionality in any upcoming release? Current Product Behavior: Unable to connect successfully to Oracle 11gR2 SCAN with Domain Naming Service (DNS). They receive the exception "Verify that connection string and user name are valid" and "Connection refused". They were able to connect successfully previously if they used the IP Address instead of the SCAN IP Address. Expected Product Behavior: Support for Domain Naming Service (DNS) with SCAN using the JDBC Oracle driver. Current Sales Situation: No Investigation Details: Per the KnowledgeBase documentation and previous cases, Domain Naming Service (DNS) for SCAN is not supported with the JDBC Oracle driver. I explained this to Informatica and stated that we do currently support Grid Naming Service (GNS).
