FIFO working for sales

Hi all,

We are using QAD eB2. For sales cycle, all these while we were using shipper cycle.
we would like to start the FIFO functionality in QAD. i had done the setup in 3.24,entered the order and packing list/shipment etc..

Would like to know can i use FIFO along with pre-shipper/shipper module?
or is it that FIFO works only with packing list and so shipments?

any help will be grateful.

FIFO logic works across the system.
What field did you set for FIFO in 3.24, it will followed.

Hi,

I have set option 2 (lot/serial) ascending in 3.24.

I wanted to know how do i use shipper along with FIFO.
To use FIFO, i will need to use packing list (7.9.13) which will pick the stocks based on the setup in 3.24.
If i need to use shipper for these sales order how do i generate shipper?

Do a pre shiper 7.91 & then shipper confirm, 7.9.1 will use picking logic set in 3.24. If you dont use auto lot nbr, user intervention in lot numbers may not always give you desired results.

thanks for your response.

while doing pre-shipper automatic, it just allocates the inventory. but in case of packing list, it allocates the particular lot number and the same can be picked during shipment (7.9.15).

Is there any way pre-shipper can pick the lot number automatically?

7.9.1 hard allocates / detail stock. It is same as allocations.

what is hard allocation? is it that if i enter an order for 10, it allocates 10 but doesn't do detailed allocation until manually done.

In case of packing list - it does a detailed allocation lot/serial wise.

Is it that pre-shipper automatic/workbench will not help in automated FIFO allocations?

Hard Alloc or Detail alloc are same.

7.9.1 does detail alloc, see 7.9.24 & 7.1.24 for allocation set up.
