The dbanalys also includes a chain analysis.

If you just want to compare record counts between a source and target DB in a dump and load, all you need is a tabanalys. It does less work than dbanalys so may run faster. If you also want to examine the state of your indexes, run a dbanalys.

Which is "better" for you depends on what information you want and what activity you are preparing to do, or if you are trying to decide if any activity is required.
