advantages of progress

hello to all!

im kind of new (6 months) to PROGRESS, being a Visual Basic programmer before, and im trying to convince a group of persons to make an applicantion using Progress...
will somebody help me figure out the ADVANTAGES of using Progress rather than using other languages like those from Microsoft (visual basic, visual foxpro, access) ....

I've been using Progress for 8 years.

Have you looked a Cache by intersystems?

Otherwise stick with VB!

Hi,

How about:
- Scalability (1-10000 concurrent users in a database)
- Performance of the database
- Easy to use database maintenance
- Ease of maintenance (software)
- Relatively short development cycle (writing something in Progress takes (a lot) less time than writing the same thing in many other languages)
- Multi platform support (Windoze, Unix, GUI, TTY etc)
