ODBC driver included with 9.0B

I've been asked a question I cannot answer.

I've been told that you cannot connect, say Crystal Reports, to a Provision
or Personal Database Progress database because the driver supplied with
V9.0B requires two connections, and the above Progress will only allow one.
Is this true?

The question is coming from our sales team. They would like to be able to
show that you can run Crystal Reports against our database and how easy it
is to generate custom reports. Depending on the sales person, they have
Provision or Personal Database. They were just told by someone at Progress
that they would have to install at least Workgroup to demo the ODBC
connectivity.

If this is true, are there other ODBC drivers that wouldn't have this
problem? Workgroup on all those laptops would be a bit pricey

Oops, wrong answer. The personal database can definitely demo
multiple connections. The proserve command is available in
Personal Database, it is just limited to connecting from the
same PC. You may not be able to demo one PC on one network and
another PC across the room, but everything works just fine
on a self-contained PC.

I should say oops again. What I said concerns the Merant driver,
the older one. The one actually shipped with V9.0B is the new
SQL-92 non-commercial SDK one. I haven't actually tried that
setup since it's still SDK at this point.
