Index In Progress

can anyone tell me about abreviated index in progress and in what situation we use that index. y it is better than other indexes .

If I recall correctly abbreviated indexes were an early form of index compression. Current index compression has long since left the usefulness of abbreviated indexes in the dustbin of history.

IOW -- just ignore it.
