Hi,
Have you installed (and/or looked at) the Progress (DynaText) Electronic Documentation? This contains all the Progress documentation, including books such as the Language Tutorial (GUI and TTY), the Programming Handbook, the Reference Guide, books on working with the ADM/AppBuilder and much much more!
If you do not have access to the Electronic Documentation CD, you can also access the E-Doc over the web (or download the books in PDF format) at http://www.progress.com/v9/documentation/index.htm.
The E-Doc is always a good start
And if you get stuck you can always come here (or www.peg.com) to see if someone had the same problem or to ask your question(s).
