Works Orders Stock issues

Hi All,

At the end of the week we produce a series of Works Orders that encompass all production for the following working week. We use Works Order Maintenance (16.1) to generate them.

When we use Works Order Reciept Backflush (16.12) to input the actual production, the system regularly brings up insufficient quantity errors. This appears to be caused by MFG repeat allocating a particular batch of a component to more than one batch or order of finished product.

Our MFG does not automatically select the next available batch of components after exhausting the previous batch.

Is there something we can change in the system to enable this?

Thanks in advance

Hi
In the perfect world MFG/PRO will never allocate the same material for more than one order. In the real world through there could be a situation, when between the moment the lot was allocated and the moment it is consumed (using backflush) somebody used up this material manually. In this case the system will report insufficient inventory at the point of consumption. What is your average timespan between allocation and consumption?
Regards

Hi,

Generally Works Orders are created on Friday and can be used anytime upto and including the following Saturday. So a possible 8 days between creation and consumption.

Regards.
