I have a client here in Houston that needs some help for a short term contract creating a relationship between a Progress DB and SQL.

Database Design, Analysis and Development, Business Process Analysis for conversion of legacy code to V9. Collaborated in development of software and support policies. Reviewed project requests to ensure compliance with standards. Reviewed and recommended software standards, strategic direction, and preferred procedures, assisted junior programmers in problem resolution. Duties required extensive meetings with supervisors, users, testers and application systems support staff to define, program and implement software modifications. Mentor to cobol programmers learning Progress and Dynamics.



1996 – 2000 Symix Systems Specialist/Consultant – Flight Safety International

Progress V6 Character Programming on AIX Defined and repaired date problems to comply with Y2K requirements on legacy Symix modifications. Automated monthly, quarterly, yearly period processing for Accounting Department. Consulted with end users on needs to develop new project requirements. Developed a dynamic Symix Menu system for users and departments. Created a reporting database. Worked with users and managers to define specifications for design, programming and testing of custom additions and modifications. Created custom reports for all departments utilizing the Symix system. Mentor to new programmer learning Access.



1995 Progress Consultant – Mapco

Hired to develop a multi-site dispatch system for natural gas liquids using Progress V6 Character, requirements included data dumps, clean-up, database merges and loads for off-site systems, performed some legacy code revisions at end of contract.



1990- 1994 Intrader Programmer/DBA/ System Administrator/Administrative Asst -Liberty Bank and Trust Investment Operations Progress V6 Programming for Investments Department. Team member for Disaster Recovery, system administrator, user support for local and branch offices, consult with end users on new and ongoing projects, review project requests to ensure compliance with internal standards and those of the FDIC and SEC, assist in problem resolution, serve as escalation contact for technical support. Coded for fed funds overnight transfer interaction with InTrader software.
