As I recall the file size limit is 2GB. Regarding recommendations... do you have the source for the application? If you have the source then the best option, by far, is to dump the data and reload it into a new, up to date database on a modern and supportable platform. OpenEdge 11.6 on Linux for instance. It will almost certainly "just work". You *might* run into some minor glitches with keyword conflicts -- as the language has grown new keywords have been added and in some cases those were field or variable names in older systems. This is easily dealt with by either editing the source or using the "keyword forget list" feature. The effort to port it to something modern is probably much, much less than incrementally experimenting with one archaeology question after another...
